We were just

cattle in 4-H...

Then we advanced with a Senior National Champion...

ORYS TIGER WOODS

1998 Grand Champion, Texas State Fair

1998 & 1999 Reserve Grand Champion, Iowa State Fair
1997 Reserve Grand Champion, Tennessee State Fair |
We have tested his progeny in our herd
against numerous bulls in the top 10% of the breed. Tiger's calves
always come to the top, with one exception - Ory's Cherokee McCue,
whose dam is Tiger's full sister. Now, Tiger's daughters are
proving to be some of the best cows we have ever owned!
I have not been able to update our web
site, since we lost our beloved Tiger in April 2005. He lost his
recip dam when he was born. We raised him on my bottle calf (that I
could not sell). When he was 3 days old I made a little halter for
him and he would go in with the show claves that were tied up and
act like a show calf. Little did he know that such greatness would
come of him. He loved going to the shows and being at the end of the
aisle. I can not begin to tell you how many people petted him and
took pictures. Denny and I still cannot talk about him. He is still
missed every day. |
WELCOME!
Our seedstock operation has evolved from two Iowa kids showing steers and breeding heifers in 4-H to fifty plus years later with thousands of miles spent showing and marketing our program. We are located in the 4 state area of southwest Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Kansas.
We are proud to offer some of the most elite Red Angus cattle in the State of Missouri, but also in the United States. Our goal is to produce Red Angus bulls and replacement females that will work for commercial and purebred breeders in our area, including show quality heifers.
One of our true passions is helping juniors with show heifers and bulls. Juniors have had Grand Champions heifers in Fort Worth, San Antonio, the Arkansas State Fair and the State Fair of Texas. We had a heifer that was undefeated for two years in Oklahoma and a bull that was undefeated for two years in Arkansas. Not to be left out are all the county shows where juniors excel with their Red Angus. (See Junior Shows)
We do not breed for extremes or any single trait, but maintain a balance of the most economically relevant traits. Our cattle have moderate frames, are structurally correct, easy fleshing, with high fertility and carcass value that fit today’s beef industry.

When
My daughter, Heather, started selling real estate, she and Jo
Ann kept pressuring
me to get my license. I must say, I am
thankful they did. I have found selling real estate gives me an
opportunity to meet people from all over the United States.
Being a farmer and
cattleman all of my life gives me a distinct edge on finding
land and farms that will work for buyers.
